Cardno Acil’s project management experience coupled with ITS’ technical trade expertise will ensure the success of the Project. Alan Oxley, Managing Director of ITS Global, has been appointed as the Technical Director and will also work in the capacity of Trainer. Alan as Technical Director will provide overall direction and quality control of technical inputs. ITS Global is one of Australia's leading consultancies on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and international trade. ITS Global advises on global developments in international trade and trade policy. It specializes in the management, delivery and design of development assistance projects to enhance trade policy capacity and economic governance within the Asia Pacific region. It provides training on international trade to officials in developing countries. ITS Global has expertise in most areas of international trade. Consultants advise on tariffs, standards and technical barriers to trade, agriculture, services, subsidies, dumping, quarantine, customs valuation, dispute settlement and the environment. They are experts in the WTO and regional and bilateral free trade agreements. ITS Global has more than 10 years experience in providing development assistance on economic governance, public sector governance, international trade, economic and industry policy. Projects have been funded by AusAID, the Japanese Ministry of Trade and Industry (METI), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and DFID. They have spanned Viet Nam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, China, Taiwan, the United States and Africa. ITS Global has managed a four-year project to enhance the institutional capacity of the Government of Laos to prepare for its membership of the WTO as well as the ASEAN Free Trade Area. It has undertaken a comprehensive review for the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry of the capacity of developing Asian economies in APEC to meet WTO obligations. It has managed a project for AusAID to support macroeconomic reform and good governance in Indonesia. ITS Global has managed a project to enhance the capacity of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture to research key issues, develop policy and improve implementation on WTO negotiations to assist the accession process. The consultancy has also designed and delivered numerous training courses on the WTO and FTAs and trade policy for developing country officials in the region. Alan Oxley, Managing Director of ITS Global, was previously Australia’s Ambassador to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (the GATT - the predecessor to the WTO). For more information about ITS Global visit www.itsglobal.net About IRL Cardno Acil / ITS will implement TARP with the support of Indochina Research Limited (IRL). Through their offices in Phnom Penh, Hanoi and Vientiane and staff in Bangkok IRL will provide administrative and logistical support in each partner country. This includes: liaison with Project Liaison Officers (PLO) for venue and participant details; participant travel (airfares, accommodation and per diems) for regional activities, booking the venues, supporting the trainers and mentors during their visits, supporting Project Coordinating Committee (PCC) meetings and all in-country expenditure. IRL has been contracted by, and will report to Cardno Acil. In addition to their valuable role in TARP, IRL provides strategic consulting and marketing research services to a range of multi national companies, NGOs, as well as government, donor and UN agencies.
